Clank can run back and forth between the switches all day - he can't be on both of them at once and then run through the door. For example, say there are two pads located near the beginning of a room and there are two large switches to stand on in order to open a door.

Using a series of time pads, Clank can project multiple versions of himself to solve puzzles. The treat comes from Clank's new gameplay mechanic: bending time. The environment during this demo looked like an extremely sophisticated planet, but there wasn't much else to see besides the sleek metallic interior. It is here that you'll control Clank in an attempt to unravel the mysteries surrounding his perilous dilemma. At the end of Tools of Destruction, Clank was abducted by the mysterious Zoni and taken away to an unknown location. But when Allgeier moved on to the Clank content - that's when things really got interesting. But you have no reason to worry about being lost - A Crack in Time will recap the story so far for those gamers that make A Crack in Time their first Ratchet purchase.

For example, Insomniac wanted to add more heart to the story, besides the comedy the series is known for. Allgeier also went over a number of other elements that we couldn't cover during our private demo. But before that section of the demo, Allgeier went over some of the basics he covered with me previously, including the new weapons that Ratchet will have at his disposal, as well as his trusty new hover boots that help complement his jumping abilities now that he and Clank have been separated. Sony hosted a closed-door session for A Crack in Time where Allgeier unveiled more of the PS3 exclusive's features, including the first demo of the Clank-based gameplay (as only Ratchet has been shown before). However, that wasn't the end of the Ratchet goodness. My hands-on with A Crack in Time was incredibly enjoyable, as the franchise's renowned mix of platforming and shooting continues to come together in a beautiful way. Earlier on at E3, I had the pleasure of sitting down with Insomniac's Creative Director Brian Allgeier and playing some Ratchet and Clank Future: A Crack in Time, the upcoming project from legendary developer Insomniac Studios.
